Richard Leroy Jaroski

Richard Leroy Jaroski, Sr., 71, of Dowell, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at his home.
Leroy was a retired supervisor at SIU Employment Training Center and had worked mine construction.  He attended the Elkville Baptist Church and was a member of the De Soto Masonic Lodge and mine construction local union.  He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was born August 29, 1928 at Dowell, the son of Joseph and Flossie (Privett) Jaroski. He married Joyce E. Foster on December 27, 1950 at De Soto and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Dowell; two daughters, Debra Lee Robison and husband Michael E. of Elkville and Laurie Lee Morgan and husband Michael K. of Elkville; one son, Richard Leroy Jaroski, Jr. and wife Terry Lee of Elkville; one brother, Joe Jaroski of DuQuoin; two sisters, Lois Jean Simon of DuQuoin and Delores Bohnert of Percy and six grandchildren, Jason Lee Jaroski, Lana Nichole Jaroski, Amy Joyce Morgan Foster and husband Travis, Elizabeth Ellen Robison, Richard Leroy Jaroski III and Kyle Richard Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Melvin W. (Butch) Jaroski.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elkville Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Hill officiating.  Interment was in Elkville Cemetery.
Friends were able to call from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin and from 10 until 10:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the DuQuoin American Legion Post.
Friends may make memorials to the TIP Hospice or the Elkville Baptist Church.
